Holland State Park is a Great Place for Camping!

The Macatawa Campground
The Macatawa Campground is the larger of the two. This campground is 1 mile from Holland state park beach. You can take the paved bike path directly to the stated park beach. It does have a small sandy beach right across the street that is on the inland lake Macatawa. At this beach you can swim, rent paddleboards, canoes and Kayaks. They even allow dogs to take a swim as long as they are leashed. Inside the campground they have 211 campsites with 11 paved lots. It’s a mixture of wooded and sunny campsite options. All campsites have 30 or 50 amp electrical service. They also have two play structures, a sand volleyball court and a horseshoe area. Alcohol must be authorized by the park manager. There are also two modern bathrooms in this campground.

Beach Campground
This is the smaller campground. It is right at the entrance of the Holland State Park beach entrance between two sand dunes. Although you won’t get a scenic view of the lake from your campsite they are just a short walk away. This campground has 98 paved campsites and 31 full hook-up sites. At the Beach Campground they offer 2 camper cabins. These three room cabins accommodate six people and include a refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot and electric heat. Beautiful views of the Holland channel and of “Big Red” Lighthouse can be enjoyed year round at these two camper cabins. The campground has modern bathrooms and each campsite has its own picnic table and firepit.
